On June 4, developers Respawn Entertainment finally released the next major update in Apex Legends, which included numerous integral fixes and a slew of new content.
One of the biggest aspects of the update was The Legendary Hunt, a limited time mode which includes the Apex Elite Queue, challenge rewards, double XP, and more, all of which have been broken down in detail below.
Apex Elite Queue
Available from June 4 to July 2, the Apex Elite Queue is essentially a special ranked playlist that matches up players and teams who finished in the top five in a match.
Anyone who finishes in the top-five of a match will be able to queue into matches full of other top-five winners, considerably raising the average skill level of the competition.
In the Elite Queue, the Ring closes faster and the damage that players receive for being out of bounds has been increased.
Legendary Hunt challenges and rewards
The Legendary Hunt event includes these special in-game challenges that will award players with that exclusively available through this event.
Legendary Hunt Badge – Finish in the Top 5 in any match. Tracks your longest Top 5 streak in the Elite Queue.
Rare Wolfpack G7 Scout weapon skin – Finish in the Top 5 in an Apex Elite match.
Epic Master of the Hunt Bloodhound Legend skin – Finish in the Top 5 in any queue five times (consecutive or nonconsecutive).
Legendary Tamed Beast Triple Take weapon skin – Win twice in any queue (consecutive or nonconsecutive).
These challenges will be available from June 4 to June 18, after which they corresponding rewards will no longer be available for unlocking.
Double XP and Battle Pass bonus XP
There will be some XP promotions available to players throughout this limited time event, starting off with a Double XP weekend that has been scheduled from Friday, June 7 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST to Monday, June 10 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST.
