Russian esports organization Virtus.pro has reportedly acquired AVANGAR’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) roster.

Russian esports organization Virtus.pro has reportedly acquired AVANGAR’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) roster. The Kazakhstan team consists of players Ali “Jame” Djami, Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev, Alexey “qikert” Golubev, Timur “buster” Tulepov, and Sanjar “SANJI” Kuliev. Dastan “dastan” Akbayev holds the coach position.

AVANGAR to Virtus.pro

The AVANGAR CSGO lineup features three players that have been with the organization since 2017, with two recently joining in April and June of 2019. It has seen great success with multiple first-place finishes, in addition to a 2nd place finish at 2019’s StarLadder Berlin Major. Other achievements include 1st at events in 2019 that include BLAST Pro Series: Moscow, DreamHack Open Rio de Janeiro, Season 1 of WePlay! Forge of Masters, and Katowice’s CIS Minor Championship.

The Virtus.pro roster currently consists of players Janusz “Snax“ Pogorzelski, Michał “MICHU“ Müller, Michał “snatchie” Rudzki, Arek “Vegi” Nawojski, Tomasz “phr” Wójcik, along with Jakub “kuben“ Gurczyński as coach. However, the Polish team hasn’t performed well at most of its recent international events, other than 2nd at 2019’s Budapest V4 Future Sports Festival.

No further information has been disclosed about where the current roster of Virtus.pro will go with this reported signing. Coach kuben has been with the Russian organization since 2015 through multiple rosters, but acquiring the AVANGAR lineup may also mean his departure.

AVANGAR is ranked 15th in the CSGO world team rankings, with Virtus.pro at 26 instead. The Kazakhstan roster will play against mousesports in Group B of the upcoming EPICENTER 2019 tournament, between Dec. 17 and 19. Can Virtus.pro go back to winning events as it did during its famous 2014 days featuring Filip “NEO” Kubski, Jarosław “pashaBiceps” Jarząbkowski, Wictor “TaZ” Wojtas, Paweł “byali” Bieliński, and Snax? Nothing ever stays the same in CSGO or esports. Let us know what you think, and keep up with Daily Esports for all of your CSGO coverage.
